Since February 2017, Selfles has been working to create a more sustainable society by giving glassware a second life.
Despite having a circular system in the Netherlands for beer bottles, unfortunately it does not yet exist for wine bottles. For that reason, Selfles gives empty wine bottles and other glassware a second life. This is how it is done: the wine bottles are collected, and in collaboration with a sheltered workshop, a sustainable light object is made from them. In this way, Selfles literally puts the bottles in the spotlight. In addition to upcycling wine bottles, the light objects are intended to create awareness about recycling and make circularization visible.
Selfles works on a local level, which is why our light objects are 100% emptied and produced in Groningen.
